It was founded in 1958 by Fernando Canini, inspired by the Wax Museums in London and Paris. However, as a number of characters, the exposure is in first place in Italy and third in Europe.
Among the wax statues the most interesting is Napoleon Bonaparte crowns emperor in Notre Dame in Paris.
Among the fairy-tale characters, however, distinguish the statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty.
Among the historical figures, the Wax Museum offers a very broad range: Pope John XXIII, Niccolò Machiavelli, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Christopher Columbus and Camillo Benso di Cavour.
There are writers like Oscar Wilde and George Byron, or characters of international politics as Stalin, Winston Churchill, Roosevelt and Mao Tse Tung. Among artists and musicians are Strauss, Toscanini, Verdi, Wagner, Puccini and Leonardo da Vinci, Goya and Picasso.
