Ex-convent dedicated to St. Egidio; the nun's Carmelitane scalze lived in until the taking of Rome, in the 70's became folk museum and a dialectical Roman Poets Museum. In the 2000 has been opened again to the public with the name of Museo di Roma in Trastevere, by a restoration responding to modern needs of a modern museum, organizing temporary exhibitions also photo shows, conferences and concerts.
Standing collection of the museum exhibits the main features of Roman common life at the end of 700 and 800, dealing with customs, folk dances, secular or religious festivals and crafts. Unique is the collection “Roma Sparita” (vanished Rome) by Ettore Roesler Franz, also the items by the famous poet Trilussa, donated after his death to the municipality of Rome.
