The Capitolini Museums were founded in 1471 when Pope Sisto IV gave as a present some bronzed statues having a high symbolic value to roman people. Collections inside Capitolini Museums are strictly linked to the city of Rome.
They are composed from Palazzo Nuovo and Palazzo dei Conservatori and were designed starting from a drawing of Michelangelo. Palazzo dei Conservatori is famous for the Egyptian collection also Etruscan and Christian ones.
Inside you can admire the famous Lupa Capitolina and the art gallery exhibition works by Pietro da Cortona, Tintoretto, Veronese, Caravaggio e Guercino. Inside the Palazzo Nuovo you can admire Marco Aurelio monument and an ancient sculpture collection.
