The Circus Maximus Rome

Circus Maximus (Circo Massimo) is an ancient roman circus for horse racing, built in Rome. Circo Massimo was designed as a place for games and competition but it worked as a place for market and trading activities because of this location, a wide, flat space close to the river Tevere.
Actually it is devoted to sporting activities and events. On July 10th 2006, after Italian Football team's victory the actor director Carlo Verdone organized a big celebration for the team, more than a million people participated.
Also important concerts took place in Circo Massimo (for example the Genesis). Over the White Night in Rome 500.000 people participated.

Circo Massimo is one of the main places in Rome. Clicking here you can see the best hotels in Rome center and guest houses located close to Circo Massimo and the related navigable map!
