Piazza del Popolo Rome

Privileged seat for events and concerts expressing the magic of Rome, this square is located at the base of Pincio terrace; you can enjoy a wonderful view from, and is considered as one of the most suggestive town- planning realization in Rome.
Realized in three centuries' time was finished by Giuseppe Valadier in 1824, by a typical neoclassic style. They were preserved Porta Del Popolo, the Egyptian Obelisk work of 1,200 BC in the center of the square and Twin church in the sides of Via del Corso, Santa Maria in Montesanto and Santa Maria dei Miracoli, arranged symmetrically on either side of the course to provide a picturesque backdrop in the city.
Piazza del Popolo delimit the square  the largest entry point in the past for travellers coming from Europe from via Flaminia, the most important consular way to the North, built to pay tribute to Queen Christina of Sweden, arrived in Rome after his conversion to Catholicism. beside Porta del Popolo, the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo, where you can see incommensurable  artistic value works , such as the frescoes in the Chapel of Pinturicchio Della Rovere, the sculptures of Sansovino, the paintings of Caravaggio in the Cerasi Chapel and the Chapel Chigi , Designed by Raphael Sanzio.
