Navona Square Rome

Builded on the shape of the ancient Domiziano Stadium, Piazza Navona is one of the most beautiful squares in Rome.
Over the centuries it was the preferred area for games, tournaments or processions in Rome. Gregorio XIII got it restored by three fountain building and a drinking through for the market needs.
The form of the square has been the same it got between 1600 and 1700. Over the centuries Navona Square has maintained its ancient vocation, ludic and exhibitionist one that you can see over Christmas time mainly, when it fills with stalls and artists performing their works.
