Strahov Stadium - Prague

Situated on top of the Petrin Hill (Prague), the Strahov Stadium is famous for being the largest stadium of the world.  The first construction in wood was done in 1926.  In 1932 the wood was replaced by cement.  The stadium was restructured in 1948 and later in 1975.  With a capacity of 250.000 people, the stadium was used for the trainings of the Sparta Prague team.  Other than for the trainings the it is also used to host musical events, like the concerts of Pink Floyd, Guns n’ Roses, Rolling Stones, U2 and Genesis.  Still preserving the present structure, there is a project that will transform the stadium in a big mall, or another one that will make it into an Olympic village.  If you want to eat something not far away from the stadium there is the Strahov Monastic Brewery.
