Tyn Church - Prague

Built in 1365 in a gothic style, the Tyn Church is found in the Old City (Prague).  The entrance on the northern side is decorated with scenes of the passion of Christ done by Peter Parler.  Within the church the is the tomb of Tycho Brahe.  The Tyn Church was the main hussite church of Prague (from the beginning of the ‘400 to 1620) and then it became the center of the bohemian reformation.  Here king George of Podebrady came to receive the utraquist communion.  The golden chalice that was once placed on the facade of the church by the will of the king, is now fused on the statue of the Madonna that is found inside.  Strolling through the Old City, a must is the Old City Square, the Klementium National Library and the Mucha Museum.
