Prague 2 Area
With its 4,19 km2, Prague 2 is the smalllest disrict of the city. The district includes the Vysehrad area, Vinohrady (where there are buildings of the XIX century, examples of the Art Nouveau, of the neo renaissance and of the neo gothic), part of the New City (district founded by king Charles IV in 1348, thought as the main commercial center of the city) and Nusle. The district has remained intact since its creation in 1960. Of great interest there is Charles Square, the gothic City Hall, the ruins of a medieval fortress, and the National Museum, situated in the higher part of the Venceslao Square. For what concerns food, in Prague 2 there is an excellent restaurant called the Pivovarsky Dum. In the proximities there is the Havlickovy Sady and the Riegrovy Sady, two important green areas of the city.
