John Lennon Wall - Prague
John Lennon Wall - Prague
Symbol of peace and freedom for the citizens of Prague and especially for the younger ones, it is a simple wall in the area of Mala Strana that, starting from the eighties became a reference point foor the young ones. They started filling it with graffiti and sentences that were mainly inspired to John Lennon and to the Beatles. Obviously it became a symbol not only for the citizens of Prague but also for people from all over the world. After John Lennon’s death his portrait was drawn on the wall from which the wall took its name. During the communist regime the wall was whitewashed more than once by the government, but each time it was refilled with new graffiti. In its proximity there is Charles Bridge and the Petrin Park.
