City Hall at New City - Prague

The City Hall of the New City (Novomestska Radnice) that is found in Prague 2, was founded in 1348, at the same time of the foundation of the New City of Prague.  Throughout the years the building was modified more than once and in the period between 1411 and 1418 it was rebuilt in a gothic style.  In 1456 the tower that hosts the Chapel of the Virgin Mary was built.  The City hall has throughout the centuries been witness of many historical events such as the first defenestration of Prague (1419), and it is now one of the eighteen cultural monuments of the city.  A facade of the building (rebuilt in 1905-1906 in a renaissance style) faces on Charles Square.  Always in the same square there is the Faust House and not far away there are also Venceslao Square and the National Museum.

The City Hall of the New City is one of the major sites of interest of the city of Prague.  On our Prague Accommodations Search Engine you can get all the informations about the Hotels in Prague 2 and the related maps.
