Astronomical Clock - Prague

The Astronomical clock of Prague (Prague Orloj) was one of the first astronomical clocks built during the XIV and XV century.  The clock is today one of the major attractions of Prague and crowds of people gather in the Old City Square to see it strike.  Three elements compose this structure: the astronomical dial on which the positions of the sun and moon are represented, the statues of the apostles that at each strike move, and the last dial where the months of the year are indicated.  After many happenings (the clock was damaged more than once throughout the years) it started working again in 1948.  Another important monument that is also situated in the square is the Tyn Church with its twin bell towers.
