Tegel Airport of Berlin

Situated at less than ten kilometers from the center, the International Airport of Berlin-Tegel is the main airport of the German capital. 
Built immediately after the war as an auxiliary airport at Tempelhof, but it became a real airport only in the sixties. 
Although it is not comparable to the more modern European airports, all equipped with restaurants and commercial services, the Tegel deals with the most important flights that depart and arrive in Berlin. 
It is possible to easily reach the Tegel airport from the urban highway – Autobahn A111 – or  with a taxi (the ride from the airport to Berlin costs 30 Euros). 
A much cheaper way of reaching the airport is taking the Express Bus Jet TXL, that offers a connection with the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) found in proximity of the Alexander Platz.
