Lindenstraße 9-14, 10969 Berlin - Info: +49 (0)30 259 93 300 –
In the Kreuzberg district, not far away from the Checkpoint Charlie, there is the Judisches Museum, the Jewish Museum of the city of Berlin.
Inaugurated in 2001, the Jewish Museum recounts two millenniums of history of the Jewish people. Showing in an innovative way, the cultural interrelations that they have had with Germany throughout these two centuries.
The entrance does not occur through the street but through an underpass that connects the Judisches Museum to the Berlin Museum.
The style of the building is rich with allegories, thanks to the deconstructive print of the genius architect Daniel Libeskind.
With a zigzag plan he represented an unstructured star of David together with the three routes- the axis of Exile, Holocaust and Continuity.
