Situated in the Tiergarten district, in the west side of Berlin, the Kulturforum can be considered as what the Museuminsel had been for the East Berlin.  Built in the sixties, when the Berlin Wall divided the city in two parts, the Kulturforum, easily reachable also from the Potsdamer Platz, is in reality an entire area containing various structures, all linked by a common factor: the culture.  Amongst the edifices that merit attention there are the Neue Nationalgalerie, the new National Gallery; and the Philarmonie for the lovers of symphonic music.  Amongst the other buildings there are the State Library, the Musical Instrument Museum, the Graphic Art Museum and many more.
