Not far away from the Grober Tiergarten, the Bauhaus-Archiv is a museum dedicated to one of the most famous schools of art, architecture and design of the twentieth century, in the heart of the Tiergarten.
It is of great importance, for it gathers all the material of the movement whose founder was Walter Gropius, who gave life to it in 1919 at Weimar.
The Bauhaus-Archiv was famous in the whole world already in 1968, year in which the fifty years of the Bauhaus were celebrated. It was only in 1971 that the Bauhaus-Archiv was moved to the city of Berlin.
Today the Bauhaus-Archiv offers, other than its permanent collection, the opportunity to assist to free exhibitions of artists such as Kandinsky, Klee, Bayer, or architects like Gropius, Breuer, Meyer other than the graphic, ceramics and photography laboratories.
The Bauhaus-Archiv is a site of elevated interest.
